1. What GotWork is

GotWork is a free website where people in Ontario post gigs and find gigs. It is the technology that helps people find each other. That is its whole role.

GotWork is based in Ontario, Canada. In these terms, "GotWork", "we" and "us" mean the business that runs this website.

• GotWork does not handle, hold or send any payments.
• GotWork is not an employer, an agency, a contractor or a party to any agreement between people who meet here.
• GotWork does not supervise gigs and does not promise that a gig will be done, done well, paid for, or safe.
• GotWork does not check skills, licences, insurance, references or criminal records.

2. Who can use GotWork

• You must be 18 or older and in Ontario, Canada.
• You may have one account. The details you give must be true and yours.
• Before you post a gig or send a message, you confirm your identity through Didit, an identity check company. The check confirms your photo ID, that it shows the name on your profile, that your face matches it, and that you are 18 or older. It is not a background check. If you change your name, you confirm your identity again.
• You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep your email account secure.

3. Your part

• Follow the Rules and safety page. It is part of these terms.
• Follow the law. That includes any taxes, licences, permits, insurance or workplace coverage that apply to the work you offer or do.
• Do not misuse the site: no fake accounts, no automated collecting of what is on it, and no attempts to break it or get around its limits.

4. Agreements between people

The task, the time, the pay, the tools and the risks are agreed between you and the other person. Any disagreement about a gig is between the two of you. You decide who you work with, and you are responsible for your own choices and safety.

5. What you post

• Your profile, gigs and messages stay yours.
• You give GotWork permission to store them and show them to other people on the site, so the site can work.
• Do not post anything you have no right to share.

6. Removing gigs and pausing accounts

GotWork may remove a gig, pause an account, or close an account that breaks these terms or the rules, or that puts other people at risk. We try to be fair and to tell you when it happens.

7. The service

• GotWork is free.
• It is provided as it is. It may change, have faults, be unavailable at times, or stop.

8. Responsibility

As far as the law allows, GotWork is not responsible for loss, damage or injury that comes from a gig, from what another person does or says, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law in Ontario says cannot be taken away.

9. Leaving

You can stop using GotWork at any time and delete your account yourself, under Me. The Privacy page says what happens to your information.

10. Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you on the site or by email before it applies.

11. Law

The laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply in Ontario govern these terms.
